Athletic Participation REQUIRED information
- Parents, please complete our online registration process ASAP if you have a winter student/athlete.

The winter season offers 8th grade athletes interested in Wrestling and Boys’ Basketball the opportunity to participate in both sports. We have a split-schedule structure in the CIML conference that offers Girls’ Basketball and Wrestling in the early season (mid October – late December) and Boys’ Basketball in the late winter season (late December – late February). 8th Boys Wrestling
Practice begins Monday, October 17th at NVMS after school (3:45-5:30pm)
- 8th Wrestling Meeting – 8:00am East Gym; Tuesday, Oct. 11th
There will be an 8th Wrestling Parent Meeting – 7-7:30pm – NV Room 1103 (Please use Main Entrance); Tuesday October 11th

9th Boys Wrestling
There will be an informational meeting for 9th grade boys interested in wrestling on 10/24 10/26 at 3:40 in the NV cafeteria. There will be a mandatory body fat testing at 7am on Tuesday, Oct 25 Thursday, Oct 27 at NV. 9th wrestling practice begins on 11/14 at ACHS. You can ride the Activity bus after school to get to ACHS. It is one of the first two buses in line and you should ask the driver if he/she is going to ACHS.

9-12 Girls Wrestling
Practice starts October 31st in the gym at Orbis (Northview).
Informational meeting will be held at Centennial at 8:00 AM on October 13th and at Ankeny High on October 14th at 8:00 AM.

8th Girls’ Basketball
Informational meeting was held on Thursday, October 6th from 7:45-8:00 AM in the Northview East Gym. You can also sign up in the front office and get handouts there.
Practice begins Monday, October 17th after school at Northview Middle School.

JV1/JV2 Girls Basketball
There will be an informational player meeting on Thursday, October 20 at 4:00 for 9th graders only.
The first practice will be held after school on Monday, November 7th.

8th Boys’ Basketball
There will be an informational meeting on Thursday December 1st at 3:45pm in the cafeteria for students interested. Official start date will be Tuesday January 3rd, but there will be optional practices on Monday, Dec. 19th & Tuesday, Dec. 20th after school from 4-5:30 at Northview.

9th Boys Swimming
There will be an informational meeting for all boys interested in 9th grade swimming on October 14th, 2021 after school in the lunchroom. This meeting is open to any boy interested in swimming during the 2022-23 season.
We will be discussing the upcoming season as well as taking swimsuit orders.

8th Grade Boys’ /Girls’ Swimming
Practice will begin in February and the season will end the week before spring break. We practice every school day from 4:00-5:30 at NV Middle School Pool . Boys and girls from both Northview and Southview can participate. *Update* An informational meeting for 8th graders interested in swimming will be held in the lunchroom at NV on January 23 and SV on January 24 right after school.
