2021-2022 Winter Athletic Information
Athletic Participation REQUIRED information
- Parents, please complete our online registration process ASAP if you have a fall student/athlete.

- Even if your student-athlete will not participate in a fall sport, we are asking all families and students to complete the online process at this time.
The winter season offers 8th grade athletes interested in Wrestling and Boys’ Basketball the opportunity to participate in both sports. We have a split-schedule structure in the CIML conference that offers Girls’ Basketball and Wrestling in the early season (mid October – late December) and Boys’ Basketball in the late winter season (late December – late February). 8th Wrestling
Practice begins Tuesday, October 19th at NVMS after school (3:45-5:30pm)
- 8th Wrestling Meeting – 7:45 – 8:00am East Gym; Thursday, Oct. 7th
There will be an 8th Wrestling Parent Meeting – 6-6:30pm – NV Room 1103 (Please use Main Entrance); Wednesday October 13th

9th Girls & Boys Wrestling Informational meeting! Coaches will be there to give you information about high school wrestling season!

8th Girls’ Basketball
Informational meeting on Thursday, September 30 from 7:45-8:00 AM in the Northview East Gym
Practice begins Monday, October 18th after school at Northview Middle School. You can also sign up in the front office.

JV1/JV2 Girls Basketball
There will be an informational player meeting on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:45 in the NV East Gym.
The first practice will be held on November 8th.

8th Boys’ Basketball
There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, Nov 30th at 3:45pm in the cafeteria for students interested. Official start date will be Monday January 3rd , but there will be optional practices on Wednesday, Dec. 15th & Thursday, Dec. 16th after school from 4-5:30 at Prairie Ridge.

9th Boys Basketball
The 9th Grade Boy’s Basketball season officially begins on November 15. Practices are held after school from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Northview Main Gym. The “A” Team typically plays games on Tuesdays and Fridays. The “B” team typically plays games on Mondays. The “C” Team schedule does not include a typical day on which they play.

9th Boys Swimming
There will be an informational meeting for all boys interested in 9th grade swimming on October 28th, 2021 after school in the lunchroom. This meeting is open to any boy interested in swimming during the 2021-22 season.
We will be discussing the upcoming season as well as taking swimsuit orders.

8th Grade Boys’ /Girls’ Swimming
Practice will begin in February and the season will end the week before spring break. We practice every school day from 4:00-5:30 at NV Middle School Pool . Boys and girls from both Northview and Southview can participate. Coach Stout will meet with interested students after Christmas break. Watch the school TV for announcements.

There will be an informational meeting for 9-12 graders interested in bowling on Monday, October 18. The meeting will be held at 4:00pm in the career center, room 2101, at Ankeny High School.
