Cheerleading
Welcome to Jaguar Cheer
The Ankeny Centennial High School Cheerleading program wants to model and shape our student-athlete into confident, independent leaders that can persevere through challenges as well as positively impact and support others. The program seeks to maximize the potential of an individual cheerleader, grow them as a teammate, help them positively build school spirit with good sportsmanship, and offer a variety of opportunities to perform and compete all while enjoying the squad, the sport, and supporting our ACHS teams.
About:
We represent ACHS, spread school spirit, compete at the State level and support/cheer on ACHS football, girls and boys basketball, and boys wrestling.
Tryouts: Fall and Competition squads are created in the spring prior to the fall season. Winter cheerleading squads are created in the fall prior to the winter season.
Time Commitment: Varies based on squad, but roughly 2-3 2 hour practices a week as well as 1 game a week during the fall and 2 games a week for winter.
Requirements: Follow the ACHS student handbook, the ACHS cheerleading handbook, and all National High School and Iowa Cheer Coaches Association Rules. Attend all practices, games, and apprentices for the season.
